Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – Daniel Is Miraculously Saved In The Lion’s Den, Part 2

Daniel's Lions En

Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God.  If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.  Here is an easy way to do that interactively.

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Daniel:   Daniel is saved in the lion’s den, Part 2. (Daniel 6)

Daniel was placed in charge of King Darius’ 120 advisors and governors.  Because of his wisdom, Daniel was made second in command over the Median kingdom even though he was a slave in exile from his homeland.  All the advisors and governors were jealous of Daniel and looked for an opportunity to discredit Daniel before King Darius.  They tricked King Darius into signing a decree that for 30 days no one could pray to anyone but the King and if anyone broke this decree, they would be cast into the lion’s den.  Daniel chose to pray to God 3 times a day just like always and as a result was cast into the lion’s den that night.

Ask the children…

What did the King call out to Daniel the next morning after Daniel had spent the night in the lion’s den?

“’Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?’”  (Daniel 6:20)

Even the King knew that Daniel was faithful to God and that if he was spared, it would be because God spared him.  How did Daniel respond from the lion’s den?

“My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight.  And I have not wronged, Your Majesty.” (Daniel 6:22)

How did the King respond so that real justice was given out?

Then the king gave orders to arrest the men who had maliciously accused Daniel.  He had them thrown into the lions’ den… The lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even hit the floor of the den.”   (Daniel 6:24)

God saved Daniel miraculously and demonstrated His justice by moving the King to have his accusers thrown into the lions’ den.  There was no one to save them. Can we trust God when we are falsely accused and go on serving God even when there is risk involved?

Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world.  Glory to Him!!!
