Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 1 Kings: Elijah Fed By Ravens (1 Kings 17:1-7)
Ahab became king over the 10 northern tribes of Israel. Ahab was an evil king. Elijah the Tishbite was a prophet of God. Ahab worshipped the false god, Baal, and believed that Baal brought rain and bountiful harvests. Elijah confronted Ahab and told him it would not rain again until he gave the word and that is exactly what happened. So the crops died and there was no water to drink.
Ask the children…
What did God tell Elijah to do and how did God provide for Elijah?
“’Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook, near where it enters the Jordan River. Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them to bring you food.’” (1 Kings 17:4, 5)
What did the Ravens bring Elijah to eat?
“The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook.” (1 Kings 17:6)
God can meet our needs even through Ravens. What are you trusting God to do miraculously for you today?
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
