Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 2 Kings: Elijah is taken to Heaven in a Chariot of Fire (2 Kings 2:11)
At the end of his life, after Elijah struck the Jordan River with his mantle and it divided for him and Elisha to cross on dry ground, another amazing thing happened that has not happened since.
Ask the children…
What appeared out of nowhere?
“As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire.” (2 Kings 2:11)
What happened to Elijah?
“It drove between the two men, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven.” (2 Kings 2:11)
Elijah did not die. He was carried directly into heaven in the chariot to fire in a whirlwind. Jesus reminds us that death is not our enemy either. When we die, we will be taken immediately to be with Jesus in heaven forever. We will even meet Elijah there.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
