Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 1 Kings: A Elijah Revives the Widow’s Son (1 Kings 17:17-24)
After the man of God Elijah predicts a drought and all the crops die and the water runs out, God tells Elijah to go to a widow in Zeraphath. She provides food for Elijah because her oil and flour miraculously do not run out. Then something worse happens, her son gets sick and dies.
Ask the children…
What did Elijah ask the woman to do?
“But Elijah replied, ‘Give me your son.’ And he took the child’s body from her arms, carried him up the stairs to the room where he was staying, and laid the body on his bed.” (1 Kings 17:19)
What did Elijah do?
“Then Elijah cried out to the LORD, ‘O LORD my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?’ And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the LORD, ‘O LORD my God, please let this child’s life return to him.’” (1 Kings 17:20, 21)
What miracle did God do?
“The LORD heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!” (1 Kings 17:15, 16)
How great our God is. Even death does not present a problem too big for Him to solve.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
