Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 2 Kings: Elisha raises the Shunammite’s Son (2 Kings 4:18-37)
God used Elisha to prophecy that a barren woman would have a son and she did. Later this same son was killed by an accident. The woman went and found Elisha and asked for his assistance. Elisha and his servant Gehazi went with her to her home.
Ask the children…
What did Elisha do?
“He went in alone and shut the door behind him and prayed to the LORD. Then he lay down on the child’s body, placing his mouth on the child’s mouth, his eyes on the child’s eyes, and his hands on the child’s hands. And as he stretched out on him, the child’s body began to grow warm again!” (2 Kings 4:33, 34)
What miracle did God do?
“Elisha got up, walked back and forth across the room once, and then stretched himself out again on the child. This time the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes!” (2 Kings 4:35)
Sometimes God doesn’t do miracles immediately. It took a continuing acts of faith by Elisha to see the miracle realized.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
