Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Luke: Elizabeth’s baby leaps in the womb when Mary comes to visit Jesus. (Luke 1:39-56)
After Mary is told by the angel Gabriel that she will miraculously become pregnant by the Holy Spirit and give birth to Jesus, she goes to visit her relative Elizabeth who has become pregnant in her old age. When Mary arrives, something amazing happens…
Ask the children…
What did the Elizabeth’s child do?
“At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her,” (Luke 1:41)
What did Elizabeth say?
“and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, ‘God has blessed you above all women and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me?’” (Luke 1:41-43)
Even a little baby in the womb knew that Jesus had come into his presence. And Elizabeth knew by the Holy Spirit that the Lord Jesus was inside Mary. What incredible proof by God that these unborn children were alive in the womb. One baby leaps at the presence of the other and Elizabeth was supernaturally given knowledge of the identity of the other baby.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
