Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Daniel: God blesses Daniel’s vegetarian diet. (Daniel 1:4-15)
Daniel and his 3 friends were slaves to the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar along with the nation of Israel. The King ordered his chief of staff that young men from the Jews be selected to be trained for his personal service. He also ordered that they be fed choice Babylonian food and wine to fatten them up. When Daniel was selected, Daniel told the chief of staff that he and his three friends couldn’t eat this food and drink this wine because it would defile them. Let’s see what happened.
Ask the children…
What was the chief of staff afraid of?
“But he responded, ‘I am afraid of my lord the king, who has ordered that you eat this food and wine. If you become pale and thin compared to the other youths your age, I am afraid the king will have me beheaded.’” (Daniel 1:10)
What did miracle did God do to prove His involvement in the lives of Daniel and his 3 friends?
“At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the king.” (Daniel 1:15)
How amazing it is that God supported Daniel’s conviction regarding what food to eat by giving Daniel and his friends noticeable strength beyond the others who ate the King’s choice food. God will back up the choices we make to deny ourselves and to serve Him. Where is God calling you to commit your way to the Lord so that He can honor your commitment before unbelievers?
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
