Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Ezra: God causes King Cyrus To Let His People Go. (Ezra 1:1-4)
Because of their disobedience, God let the Babylonians come and take His people into slavery and to take them back to Babylonia. During that captivity, Jeremiah prophesied that after 70 years the people would be allowed to go back to their Promised Land. So how did God pull this off?
Ask the children…
What did God cause King Cyrus to do?
“In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, the LORD fulfilled the prophecy he had given through Jeremiah. He stirred the heart of Cyrus to put this proclamation in writing and to send it throughout his kingdom:” (Ezra 1:1)
What did King Cyrus say in his proclamation?
“Any of you who are his people may go to Jerusalem in Judah to rebuild this Temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, who lives in Jerusalem. And may your God be with you!” (Ezra 1:3)
So God moved the heart of the king to send God’s people back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. Not only that, God stirred the king to contribute the resources to do it and to get his people to support the effort too. Nothing was too hard for God to change back then or in our lives today. What miracle do you want God to do in your situation?
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
