Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Nehemiah: God reveals to Nehemiah His plan to rebuild the wall. (Nehemiah 2:11-20)
Some 14 years after Ezra the priest led the second return of the Israelite exiles back to Jerusalem from Babylon in order to lead a revival, God brought Nehemiah back to lead God’s people in another crucial activity.
Ask the children…
What did God lead Nehemiah to do?
“I slipped out during the night, taking only a few others with me. I had not told anyone about the plans God had put in my heart for Jerusalem… After dark I went out through the Valley Gate, past the Jackal’s Well, and over to the Dung Gate to inspect the broken walls and burned gates.” (Nehemiah 2:12, 13)
What did Nehemiah tell the people that God had put on his heart for them to do?
“But now I said to them, ‘You know very well what trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace!’” (Nehemiah 2:17)
God raised up Nehemiah to lead His people in this rebuilding plan and God is raising you up for His purposes too. What are those purposes of God in your life today?
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
