Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of 2 Kings: God provides oil miraculously for a prophet’s widow (2 Kings 4:1-7
One day a widow of a prophet of God came to Elisha and begged him to help her. She was destitute and her creditors were coming to take her two sons to become slaves to pay off her debts.
Ask the children…
What did Elisha ask her and how did the widow respond?
“’What can I do to help you?’ Elisha asked. ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?’ ‘Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,’ she replied.” (2 Kings 4:2)
What did Elisha instruct her to do?
“And Elisha said, ‘Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors. Then go into your house with your sons and shut the door behind you. Pour olive oil from your flask into the jars, setting each one aside when it is filled.’” (2 Kings 3:18)
How did the Lord provide?
“Soon every container was full to the brim! ‘Bring me another jar,’ she said to one of her sons. ‘There aren’t any more!’ he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing.” (2 Kings 4:6)
Our Lord loves to miraculously provide to meet our needs with just enough. How good our God is!!
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
