Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Matthew: Jesus is sustained for 40 days and nights without food or water. (Matthew 4:1-10; Luke 4:1-13; Mark 1:12, 13)
After Jesus was baptized, He was led by the Holy Spirit out into the wilderness.
Ask the children…
What was the first miracle that happened in the wilderness?
“And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.” (Matthew 4:2)d
No one can live more than a few days without water and God sustained Jesus for 40 days without water or food. After all this, Jesus was able to resist the temptation of Satan. What second miracle did God do to minister to Jesus?
“Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.” (Matthew 4:11)
So God miraculously sustained Jesus body for 40 days and then He sent angels to meet all of Jesus’ physical needs. What a wonderful God that we have who not only has the power to meet every physical need that we have but also to sustain us for whatever task He has given to us. What do you need God to sustain you in today? Go ahead and ask Him and trust Him to provide.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
