Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Esther: God protects Esther when she goes to the king to save her people. (Esther 4:1-14)
Through divine intervention, Esther a Jew, became the queen of the Persian Empire to King Ahasuerus. The King did not know he was married to a Jew. The King’s trusted advisor, Haman, tricks the King into believing that the Jewish people are a threat to his kingdom. Haman gets the King to sign a declaration that on a certain day all the Jews should be destroyed and the King will pay anyone who kills the Jews.
Mordecai, Esther’s uncle, finds out about the plot and exhorts Esther to go to the King, reveal that she is a Jew, in order to request the King to rescind this declaration. Esther is terrified because no one goes to the King without his calling them and if he is displeased they will be killed.
Ask the children…
What does Mordecai warn Esther will happen to her if she doesn’t go to the King?
“Mordecai sent this reply to Esther: ‘Don’t think for a moment that because you’re in the palace you will escape when all other Jews are killed.’” (Esther 4:13)
How confident is Mordecai that God is going to do a miracle to save His people?
“’If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?’” (Esther 4:14)
Mordecai believed that God has placed Esther in her position as Queen just for the purpose of saving her people from death. But he also believed that if she didn’t do anything, God would provide another way of saving them.
And so Esther did go to the King and revealed that she was a Jew and she was not killed. She revealed Haman’s evil plot and the King signed another decree that allowed the Jews to defend themselves and they were saved.
I wonder if you have been placed into the circumstances that you are presently in for just such a time as this.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
