Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – God Was With The Judges

Cycle of Judges

Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God.  If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.  Here is an easy way to do that interactively.

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Joshua:  God was With the Judges (Judges 2:16-18)

God had led His People to defeat their enemies and to take the Promised Land through the leadership of Joshua.  After Joshua died, there was no one to lead the people and they turned their backs on God.  Their enemies began to fight against them and defeat them.  God’s people cried out and God raised up Judges to lead the people.

Ask the children…

What did God raise up Judges to do?

“Then the LORD raised up judges to rescue the Israelites from their attackers.” (Judges 2:16)

How did God’s People (Israel) respond to God’s miraculous provision?

“Yet Israel did not listen to the judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other gods. How quickly they turned away from the path of their ancestors, who had walked in obedience to the LORD’s commands.” (Judges 2:17)

How did God respond?

“Whenever the LORD raised up a judge over Israel, he was with that judge and rescued the people from their enemies throughout the judge’s lifetime. For the LORD took pity on his people, who were burdened by oppression and suffering.” (Judges 2:18)

God is so patient with us and miraculously provides even when we don’t deserve it.

Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world.  Glory to Him!!!
