Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Joshua: Jericho’s Walls Fall Down (Joshua 6:6-20)
The first great test for God’s People and Joshua in taking the Promised Land is to defeat the city of Jericho. This is a fortified city with huge stone walls surrounding it. God had promised to give Jericho into their hands and but had given Joshua a strange command regarding what their part was supposed to be.
Ask the children…
What did God ask Joshua and His people to do and then what did He promise to do?
“You and your fighting men should march around the town once a day for six days. Seven priests will walk ahead of the Ark, each carrying a ram’s horn. On the seventh day you are to march around the town seven times, with the priests blowing the horns. When you hear the priests give one long blast on the rams’ horns, have all the people shout as loud as they can. Then the walls of the town will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the town.” (Joshua 6:3, 4, 5)
What miracle did God do when the people obeyed?
“When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.” (Joshua 6:20)
Isn’t it amazing what God did? There is no way the people would have come up with this plan to defeat their enemy. Once again God displayed what only He could do on behalf of His people.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
