Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of John: Jesus heals the lame man by the pool. (John 5:1-9)
Jesus went up to Jerusalem and was walking by a pool called Bethesda. There at the Bethesda pool sat many who were sick, blind and lame. They were waiting for an angel to come and stir up the waters. Whoever stepped into the waters first would be healed. A certain lame man had been sitting there 38 years because he didn’t have anyone to put him into the pool.
Ask the children…
What did Jesus ask the lame man?
“’Do you want to be made well?’” (John 5:6)
The man told Jesus that he didn’t have anyone to put him into the water. But that wasn’t the kind of healing that Jesus was talking about? What did Jesus say to the man?
“’Rise, take up your bed and walk.’” (John 5:8 )
How long did it take for this man to be healed?
“And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.” (John 5:8 )
When Jesus spoke healing, His words overruled the natural realm and ill health and the supernatural realm of healing took over and the man was immediately healed.
Jesus can do that same healing today. We don’t know exactly when Jesus will heal, but we pray for people by faith and wait to see if there is healing like with the lame man.
