Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Judges: Samson Slays Philistines with a Donkey’s Jawbone (Judges 15:15, 16)
God raised up Samson as a Judge to lead the Israelites to defeat their enemy the Philistines. When Samson had tormented the Philistines too many times, the Philistines threatened to wipe out the Israelites (God’s People). The Israelites tied up Samson with some new ropes to hand him over to the Philistines, but when the Spirit of God came upon Samson, the ropes fell off like they had been burned. Samson was angry with the Philistines for their evil.
Ask the children…
What did Samson use and how many Philistines did he kill?
“Then he found the jawbone of a recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed 1,000 Philistines with it.” (Judges 15:15)
What did Samson name that place so everyone would remember the miracle that God did through him there?
“When he finished his boasting, he threw away the jawbone; and the place was named Jawbone Hill”. (Judges 15:17)
Remembering what God has done for us is important because when we have difficulties, we can go back and remember God’s faithfulness in the past so we can trust Him now.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
