Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Miracle of the Signs of God’s Presence On Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:10-25)
When God’s People left Rephidim, they traveled to the valley at the foot of Mount Sinai in the wilderness. They remained there for 1 year. Right when they got there God called Moses up on the mountain to meet with Him.
Ask the children…
What did the Lord warn Moses regarding anyone but Moses coming up the mountain?
“Mark off a boundary all around the mountain. Warn the people, ‘Be careful! Do not go up on the mountain or even touch its boundaries. Anyone who touches the mountain will certainly be put to death.” (Exodus 19:12)
What were the signs of God’s presence of the mountain?
“All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in the form of fire. The smoke billowed into the sky like smoke from a brick kiln, and the whole mountain shook violently.” (Exodus 19:18)
Why would the people die if they came up on the mountain into God’s presence?
“Even the priests who regularly come near to the LORD must purify themselves so that the LORD does not break out and destroy them.” (Exodus 19:22)
Unlike the priests who were constantly purifying themselves, we have been declared pure for all eternity because of the blood of Jesus Christ and we can go into the presence of God whenever we want without fear of death. In fact, God invites us to come in 24/7. Now that is something to shout about.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
