Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – The Miracle Of The Parting Of The Red Sea (Part 2)

Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God.  If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.  Here is an easy way to do that interactively.

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus:  The Miracle of the Parting of the Red Sea (Part 2).  (Exodus 14)

There were several miracles in this Red Sea miracle for us to consider today.  Let’s remember that God’s people (about 2 million) had left Egypt to go into the desert.  God is leading them by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of cloud by night.  He surprisingly leads them to the shores of the Red Sea and then parts it with a strong wind so His people can pass through on dry ground.

Ask the children…

What kept Pharaoh’s armies from charging forward and capturing God’s people on the shores of the Red Sea?

“The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps. As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did not approach each other all night.” (Exodus 14:20)

How did God keep the Egyptian army, who were in speedy chariots, from catching up in the middle of the Red Sea with God’s people slow moving people?

But just before dawn the LORD looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud, and he threw their forces into total confusion. He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. ‘Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!’ the Egyptians shouted. ‘The LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!’” (Exodus 14:13)

What other miracle did the Lord do to destroy the Egyptian army?

“Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers—the entire army of Pharaoh. Of all the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived.” (Exodus 14:28)

No miracle is too great for our God.  He does mighty wonders on behalf of His people.

Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world.  Glory to Him!!!
