Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Pillar of Cloud by Day and Pillar of Fire by night. (Exodus 13:21, 22; 40:34-38)
When God’s People (the Jews) left Egypt, they didn’t know where they were going, didn’t have any weapons and had little provisions to feed 2 million people. What were they going to do? God wanted to show them that He would lead them and protect them and provide for them.
So by day God appeared in their midst as a Pillar of Cloud by day and a Pillar of fire by night.
Ask the children…
Was there ever a time while God’s people were in the wilderness that God’s presence was not with them either as a Pillar of Cloud or Pillar of Fire?
“And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.” (Exodus 13:22)
What were the Pillar of Cloud and Pillar of Fire for?
The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night.” (Exodus 13:21)
How amazing that for 40 years while they traveled in the desert, God visibly showed them His presence. God is miraculously present with us every moment also. Jesus said “I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20)
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
