Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – The Plague Of Boils

Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God.  If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.  Here is an easy way to do that interactively.

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus:  The Plague of Boils.  (Exodus 9:8-12)

Remind your children that God’s children (The Jews) were now slaves in Egypt.  Moses and his brother Aaron have been called by God to tell Pharaoh (Egypt’s king) that He must let the Jews go.  Pharaoh had told them NO!

So God brought 10 miraculous plagues to convince Pharaoh to let His people go.  Here is the sixth plague.

Ask the children…

What did God use to cause the boils?

“Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of soot from a brick kiln, and have Moses toss it into the air while Pharaoh watches. The ashes will spread like fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, causing festering boils to break out on people and animals throughout the land.” (Exodus 9:8, 9)

How bad did the Egyptians feel because of the boils?

“Even the magicians were unable to stand before Moses, because the boils had broken out on them and all the Egyptians.” (Exodus 9:11)

How did Pharaoh react?

“But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and just as the LORD had predicted to Moses, Pharaoh refused to listen.” (Exodus 9:12)

It is amazing how Pharaoh would not listen after all these plagues.  Even today though, people often have to have something bad happen in their lives multiple times before they get it and turn to the Lord.

Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world.  Glory to Him!!!
