eaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Plague of Darkness. (Exodus 10:21-29)
Remind your children that God’s children (The Jews) were now slaves in Egypt. Moses and his brother Aaron have been called by God to tell Pharaoh (Egypt’s king) that He must let the Jews go. Pharaoh had told them NO!
So God brought 10 miraculous plagues to convince Pharaoh to let His people go. Here is the ninth plague.
Ask the children…
What was so different about the intensity of this darkness?
“Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Lift your hand toward heaven, and the land of Egypt will be covered with a darkness so thick you can feel it.’ ” (Exodus 10:21)
With darkness everywhere, who miraculously still had light in their dwellings?
“During all that time the people could not see each other, and no one moved. But there was light as usual where the people of Israel lived.” (Exodus 10:23)
Pharaoh finally said all God’s people could go and worship God except one group, who was it?
“Finally, Pharaoh called for Moses. ‘Go and worship the LORD,’ he said. ‘But leave your flocks and herds here. You may even take your little ones with you.’” (Exodus 10:24)
Pharaoh hardened his heart again but this time he issued a decree and Moses agreed, what was it?
“But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart once more, and he would not let them go. ‘Get out of here!’ Pharaoh shouted at Moses. ‘I’m warning you. Never come back to see me again! The day you see my face, you will die!’ ‘Very well,’ Moses replied. ‘I will never see your face again.’” (Exodus 10:27-29)
After this Moses announces the last plague that was the ultimate devastation for the Egyptians.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
