Teaching Children About Bible Miracles – The Plague Of Lice

Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God.  If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today.  Here is an easy way to do that interactively.

Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus:  The Plague of Lice.  (Exodus 8:16-18)

Remind your children that God’s children (The Jews) were now slaves in Egypt.  Moses and his brother Aaron have been called by God to tell Pharaoh (Egypt’s king) that He must let the Jews go.  Pharaoh had told them NO!

So God brought 10 miraculous plagues to convince Pharaoh to let His people go.  Here is the third plague.

Ask the children…

What did Aaron stretch out by faith to start this plague?

“So the LORD said to Moses, ‘Tell Aaron “Raise your staff and strike the ground. The dust will turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.”'” (Exodus 8:16)

Where did the lice (tiny bugs that crawl on your skin) come from and who did they infest?

“When Aaron raised his hand and struck the ground with his staff, gnats infested the entire land, covering the Egyptians and their animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats.”  (Exodus 8:17)

Could Pharaoh’s magicians match God’s miracle?

“Pharaoh’s magicians tried to do the same thing with their secret arts, but this time they failed. And the gnats covered everyone, people and animals alike.” (Exodus 8:18)

Again Pharaoh was stubborn and would not listen.  But God had more miracles left to convince old Pharaoh.

Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world.  Glory to Him!!!
