Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Plague of Pestilence. (Exodus 9:1-7)
Remind your children that God’s children (The Jews) were now slaves in Egypt. Moses and his brother Aaron have been called by God to tell Pharaoh (Egypt’s king) that He must let the Jews go. Pharaoh had told them NO!
So God brought 10 miraculous plagues to convince Pharaoh to let His people go. Here is the fifth plague.
Ask the children…
What did Moses say would cause this plague of pestilence (disease on livestock)?
“The hand of the LORD will strike all your livestock—your horses, donkeys, camels, cattle, sheep, and goats—with a deadly plague.” (Exodus 9:3)
When did Moses say it would happen?
“The LORD has already set the time for the plague to begin. He has declared that he will strike the land tomorrow.” (Exodus 9:5)
Who’s animals were protected and who’s animals were not?
“And the LORD did just as he had said. The next morning all the livestock of the Egyptians died, but the Israelites didn’t lose a single animal.” (Exodus 9:6)
God can even divide up a plague so that only some livestock would be sickened. That is a miracle on top of a miracle.
Again Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let God’s people go. Not a very smart move. Things were going to get worse.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
