Teaching children about the Bible miracles is important because it helps them to see how nothing is impossible for God. If God can do miracles in the Bible, He can do them in our children’s lives today. Here is an easy way to do that interactively.
Today let’s focus on a Bible miracle from the book of Exodus: The Miracle of The Victory Over Amalek (Exodus 17:8-16)
At Rephidim the fierce nomadic tribes known as Amalek attacked God’s people. God’s people were not trained as soldiers nor did they have weapons. Moses, Aaron and Hur were old men and retreated from the battle to pray for God’s intervention.
Ask the children…
How did Moses pray and what happened when he stopped?
“As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage.” (Exodus 17:11)
How did his friends come alongside Moses in prayer?
“Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset.” (Exodus 17:12)
Did God’s people miraculously win the battle through God’s response to prayer?
“As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.” (Exodus 17:7)
There is nothing in our lives that is too big for God to handle if we only bring it to Him in prayer.
Now you can see how Bible miracles are God’s way of blessing the world. Glory to Him!!!
