Teaching Kids Key Life Learnings from 100 Biblical Characters: No. 2 – Eve

EVE

What practical key life learnings can we teach kids from the life of Eve?

Context (Genesis 1-3):  Remember Adam was the first man that God created and put him in the midst of the Garden of Eden.  Eve was created out of Adam’s rib and became Adam’s wife as wonderful companion for him.

Eve was approached by Satan and he tricked her into thinking that she could not be content as long as she could not eat from the one tree in the garden that God had warned her not to eat from.

She and Adam disobeyed God and ate from the tree and their eyes and hearts were opened to sin and evil.

Key Life Learnings To Teach Kids:

  • A wife is a companion that God provides as an incredible blessing.    God does not call everyone to be married, but for those He does, God gives a wife to a man (and vice versa) as the most wonderful gift to walk with him and to help him grow closer to the Lord.
  • Satan is incredibly crafty and will try to deceive us.  Eve listened to Satan rather than turning back to God’s loving words of warning.  We can trust God even when the world says not to.
  • We should not blame others for our faults.  When God asked Adam and Eve why they ate from the tree that He had told them not eat from, Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed Satan.  God wants us to own our mistakes so we can get free from them and grow.
