Teaching Thankfulness To Our Kids

Looking for a way to teach your kids to be thankful for the things that they have been given?  Well here is a neat Thankgiving craft which can  be used throughout the year to remind your kids of  things that they are thankful for.

The nice thing about this craft is that it allows our kids to not just say what they think of at the time and then forget it 10 minutes later.  They can think about what they really want to be thankful for, then to draw it, then to hold it in their hands, and then be able to look at it and be reminded whenever life is difficult.  To have so much interaction with the things they are thankful for will help them to remember them better later.

Thankfulness is such an important quality to teach young Christians in this society.   So often we are taught to be entitled, that we deserve what we get because we work so hard for it, when in fact everything we have is a gift from God.  So lets break this pattern with the next generation and raise up adults that know who they are thankful to for everything.

If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.  It is great for parents and kids because it provides the Big Story of God’s miraculous plan for His children in all 66 books in the Bible including colorful illustrations, rhymes and a surprise on every page.
