The Miracle And Meaning Of The Ascension, Part 3 – All The Miracles In The Bible For Kids

Jesus Ascending

Today let’s focus on teaching kids a Bible miracle from the book of Acts.  The miracle of the ascension confirmed Christ’s place of honor and power. (Acts 1:9-11; Acts 2:33)

When Jesus lived here on this earth, through His words and miracles, people could get a glimpse of the power of Jesus, but His real power was still veiled.  But in the ascension this was all changed.

Ask the children…

How great was the honor given to Christ when He ascended?

“Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today..” (Acts 2:33)

Jesus was given the greatest honor.  We think it is a big deal to win a gold medal in the Olympics or to become the president of the United States, but these are nothing compared to honor given to Jesus when He came back to heaven.  He was sitting again next to His Father as co-rulers of the universe.  What was the incredible gift given to Jesus to give to us?

Jesus was given the gift of the Holy Spirit to give to all of us.  What an honor to be able to give to His people the most valuable thing in universe.  What an incredible gift we have received from the Jesus the King of the universe.

Discuss with your kids the best gift they have ever received.  Ask them why it was the best gift?  Discuss with them why the gift of the Holy Spirit is so wonderful coming from King Jesus.  Spend some time praising Jesus for His wonderful gift and worshipping the King Jesus who is in heaven.
