Top 100 Children’s Bible Memory Verses: Cure For Anxiety – The Story Behind 1 Peter 5:7

Peter

1 Peter 5:7 is a favorite children’s bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind this verse?

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

Peter wrote to a broad group of Christians who were experiencing suffering for their faith.  Instead of feeling bad about it, Peter encourages them to rejoice.  Why rejoice?  Because they are sharing in the sufferings of Jesus.

In chapter 5 Peter reminded these Christians that God will shepherd them in the midst of these trials and therefore they are to shepherd one another.

In 1 Peter 5:6 Peter writes that even in suffering Christians can entrust themselves to God because He will use these trials to cause them to grow.  And (1 Peter 5:7) during this time they can give all their anxieties to God because like a good shepherd, God cares for them.
