Galatians 5:22, 23 are favorite bible memory verses, but how many know the story behind the verses?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control”.
The great missionary Paul planted these churches in Galatia on his first missionary journey.
Paul wrote this letter to the churches of Galatia because he saw they were weighed down by guilt and trying to keep the Law again.
Since the Galatian believers were no longer under the Law, they were free to live for Christ as the Spirit directed them.
In Galatians 5:22, 23 Paul shares with the Galatians the character qualities that the Spirit of God places into the life of every believer. These ‘spiritual fruit’ allow the believer to freely follow in the wonderful plan that God has for them.
Now you know the story behind Galatians 5:22, 23.
