Top 100 Children’s Bible Memory Verses: God’s Good Plan – The Story Behind Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 is a favorite Bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind the verse?

Jeremiah was a prophet in Old Testament.  He spoke to God’s people when they had turned away from God.  He told them that if they didn’t turn back to God, God would discipline them.

Sure enough, the evil Babylonians came and made war against God’s people and took many of them into captivity in Babylon.

The people were very discouraged and thought that God had forgotten them and no longer did He have a plan for them.

Jeremiah wrote to God’s people and told them that they would be in captivity in Babylon for 70 years.  Then God would bring them out of captivity and bring them back to their land and their city, Jerusalem.

God had never deserted them, He always had a good plan for them.  They could rely on God and have hope no matter what their story appeared to be at the moment.

Now you know the story behind Jeremiah 29:11.
