Top 100 Children’s Bible Memory Verses: God’s Good Plan – The Story Behind Romans 8:28

St. Paul

St. Paul

Romans 8:28 is a favorite bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind the verse?

Paul was a great missionary and went around planting churches everywhere.  This particular letter he wrote to the church in Rome.  Surprisingly he had never been there.  The church was planted by those who had come to Christ and then went to Rome and started a church.

Paul wrote to encourage them and to give them a proper foundation in their faith.

One thing Paul knew was that the Roman church would undergo tough times and would feel like God didn’t have a good plan for them.  Sometimes they would feel discouraged because they failed to do what God wanted.  Other times things would be tough because they would face persecution by those who hated them for believing in Jesus and not following false gods.

Paul wrote Romans 8:28 to remind them that no matter what happens, God always has a good plan for the Roman believers and for all Christians for that matter.

Now you know the story behind Romans 8:28.

Remind your children that God has a good plan for them too no matter what they are facing today.
