John 14:6 is a favorite bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind this verse?
“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
John was one of Jesus’ disciples. He wrote this book to prove that Jesus was in fact God come here to earth to save people from their sins.
|The Big Idea Of John Is The Story Of Believing in Jesus The Son Of God And Savior|
One common belief in Bible times as well as today is that there are many paths to know God. John wrote this section in John 14 to demonstrate that Jesus is the only way to the Father.
John quoted Jesus’ words that had gone ahead and prepared a place for the believers in God’s house in heaven. The problem was that Jesus was the only one who had been there and knew how to get heaven.
One of the disciples, Thomas, voiced this concern. That was when Jesus told the disciples what John records in John 14:6.
The way to God is only through Jesus. It is not a physical path to follow, but a relationship with Jesus. The way to heaven is found by walking with Jesus. He will take believers to heaven.
Now you know the story behind John 14:6.
