Top 100 Children’s Bible Memory Verses: Jesus Made God Known – The Story Behind John 1:18

John 1:18 is a favorite children’s Bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind this verse?

“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known.”

John wrote so that all would come to believe in Jesus and receive eternal life.

In the first chapter John lays out such incredible truths about Jesus;  He is the Word of God, He created the world, He is the Son of God and He is God.

In this verse 18, John told his readers that when they looked upon Jesus, they were looking upon God the Father Himself.  Jesus is the exact representation of the Father.

If you want to know what God the Father is like, just look at Jesus.

So often in our culture I hear people wonder what God is like.  Well, John wrote to clear all that up.  Pick up the gospel of John and read about Jesus and His life and words and you will know exactly what the Father is like.

This is an incredible truth.  We can know all about God and come to know Him personally by reading about the life of Jesus.

Now you know the story behind John 1:18.
