Ephesians 2:10 is a favorite children’s bible memory verse, but how many know the story behind the verse?
“We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Paul was a great missionary and went around planting churches everywhere. This particular letter he wrote to the church in Ephesus. Paul had planted this church and then came back later and stayed with the church at Ephesus for 3 years.
Paul wrote this letter to the Ephesians because he wanted to remind them about the incredible gifts God had given them and to encourage them to use them.
One of the greatest gifts God provided was His purposeful creation of each one of us. Paul reminded the Ephesians that God had saved them with a specific purpose in mind.
These works that God intends, He has already prepared beforehand and the job of the believer is to discover the path that God has for them and to walk down that path.
