Encouraging Kids To Volunteer At Church

Serving the Church

Volunteering at church is a great opportunity for your kids to experience.  If your child is over the age of 12 they are probably able to begin helping out in the kids ministry.  This is such a great thing because it teaches your kids not only responsibility but also it gives them a chance to serve the church.

Jesus loves the church deeply. He died on a cross just so His people could be with Him for eternity.

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”

Ephesians 5: 25-27

By having your kids get involved in the church they can begin to grow a love for the church as well.  Sure there will be messy times, when things do not go perfectly, but that is the reality of working with imperfect people.  The sooner they learn that probably the better! Then they can take their eyes off of people and focus on serving for Jesus! Isn’t that the goal for all of us.
