We are now beginning to embark on a series of blogs that discuss what is love and how kids perceive love. I am going to look at some different ways that Jesus showed love and also how parents can show love in a unlovable world.
I have a great many memories of being tucked into bed by my dad each and every night growing up. I not only got tucked in but he would also read my siblings and I a story all together on one of our beds. We read books like the Narnia series , or some of the Mrs. Piggly Wiggly series.
This was a great way that my father showed us love. Each night after a long day at work he still was willing to get us ready for sleep. This reminds me of how Jesus spent time with his disciples even when he was tired at the end of a long day of walking.
Love…It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13
Try grabbing a book tonight and begin a new tradition of loving on your kids with a nightly reading session. Though you may have had a long day this loving memory will last a lifetime.
If you like what you read, check out our children’s book, Hooked on the Book, on this website.
