The first lesson on money that needs to be learned for the child ages 6-10 is that choices need to be made about what they would spend their money on.
This is a great way to talk to you kids about what the Bible says about how God should guide our choices. This can lead to the conversation about the most important decision that you child can ever choose to make to accept Jesus.
Proverbs 16:9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
To get back to the lesson about money I am going to suggest a few activities to help teach this lesson.
1) Make sure that your child is included in some small decisions like what to by at the grocery store.
2) Give your child a small amount of money, for example, a few dollars and have them choose a food purchase.
3) When you are shopping with your child as yourself questions aloud like, “do I need this?”, “can I get this somewhere else?”.
Stay tuned for some more ideas for this age group in my next blog.
