What the Bible says about Money for kids ages 11-13 -Part 2

Credit Cards

It is important to impress on your children the importance of being careful about who they give their personal information . By looking at the background of institutions they can get a better grasp of who they should trust. The bible tells us that we are to choose good company and not be deceived by those who we go into business with.

1 Corinthians 15:33  Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

For this blog the lesson is how they need to be careful about who they give their bank and personal information to, especially online.

For the activities of this lesson you need to:

1) Talk about what could happen if they enter their information online.

2) Talk about how people who steal social security numbers can open credit cards in your name and can rack up charges.

3) Discuss how all the “free” offers online may just be scams to get their information.

4) Make a rule that your kids shouldn’t answer e-mails from people they don’t know, and they shouldn’t open any pop up adds.

Stay tuned for more tips for this age.
