What the bible says about money for kids ages 11-13 is the theme of this blog. We love this bible verse for this section because it encouraging parents to model good money management as the way to teach their kids.

Titus 2:7  Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity and dignity.

Besides modeling for our kids here are some specific ideas.

1) Tell you kids about how it is a blessing to be able to save the first 10% of the money they make.

2) Encourage your children to choose an item that they want to buy and help them find ways they can work to earn the money for the item.

3) To help your child see the way that their money builds in the bank, go with them to the bank and talk about the amount of interest their money is making. How fun if they make a deposit each time they go in.

4) Discuss with your spouse about making a matching plan for your childs savings plan. For example put in a quarter for each dollar that your child puts into savings.
